2009 FALL DOIN'S and PLAQUING
(Fri) SEPT. 11th to (Sun) SEPT. 13th, 2009
WOHLER RANCH
CIRCA 1856
SONOMA COUNTY, CA.
Origanally part of the Rancho El Molino, this ranch
was given to a niece of Mariano Vallejo upon her
marriage to Hermann Wohler. After Wohler's death
in 1877, the central 1320 acres were sold to
Raford Peterson and his partner Charles Farmer,
whom Peterson later bought out. Peterson pioneered
the growing of hops, and during the early 20th
Century, the ranch led Sonoma County in hop production
with over 500 acres planted. Raford Peterson's Family
worked the ranch for over 100 years.
In 1980, the ranch house was renovated and is now known
as the Raford Inn. The old Wohler-Peterson Ranch
continues to serve Sonoma County as a destination
for visitors from around the world.
We will be Plaquing.....
